North Fiord · Strategic operations, automated
Every stream. One fiord. Work done.
Stripe, Shopify, ads, SEO, banking, and accounting — converged into one governed basin, with Guides that reconcile, flag, and brief while you climb. For founder-led DTC brands and SaaS companies.
10streams
live from day one — revenue, ads, SEO, banking, and books, tapped read-only where they already run.
3layers
Streams, Harbor, Guides. Data flows in; finished work flows out. No tabs in between.
0dashboards
to open, refresh, or reconcile. The briefing arrives already read — this is the end of dashboards.

Give ambitious teams the operating clarity of a company ten times their size — without the headcount.
We work with founder-led DTC brands and SaaS companies whose growth has outrun their instruments — more platforms, more spend, more moving parts, and no one paid to reconcile them.
The fix is not another dashboard. It is a basin: every stream settled into one governed operating model, and software that does the operational work — reconcile, flag, forecast, brief — so the humans can climb.
Read the water
Decisions from data, not vibes. If it matters, it's measured.
Pack light
Automate the carry. Human hours go to judgment, not copy-paste.
Earn the summit
Senior operators only. Accountable to outcomes, not hours billed.
Leave the trail better
Clients keep the system, understand it, and can run it without us.
01 · The named system
The Ascent System
The engine under every North Fiord engagement — always named, never generic. One sentence tells the whole route: streams in, work out.
Live connections
Read-only, API-native taps into the tools you already run. No new data entry, no warehouse project — the streams keep flowing on day one.
The governed basin
Every stream settles into one governed operating model — normalized, reconciled, and current. The whole business, legible at a glance.
Agents on the water
Guides do the operational work: reconcile the ledger, flag anomalies, refresh forecasts, draft the Monday briefing. Work, not charts — this is the end of dashboards.
You, climbing
Your team back on the route that matters — decisions made on numbers that are already true, with a guide who owns the outcome beside you.
Streams we run today
Reconciled overnight: Stripe ↔ Mercury ↔ Xero — 214 txns, 3 flags held for review. Meta CAC +18% w/w on prospecting. Scaling rule paused; reallocation drafted. Cash $412.8K · runway 14.2 mo · next inventory PO due in 9 days. Monday briefing drafted. Nothing needs you before noon.
Illustrative figures — what a Guide dispatch looks like on a client basin, typed as the system works.
What an engagement looks like
- A fit check first — a written go, conditional, or no-go within two business days
- Blueprint Week: the architecture of your basin, yours to keep either way
- A fixed-scope build — first real alert on your data within 72 hours of access
- An optional retainer: managed infrastructure, weekly briefed, monthly call
02 · The practice
Two practices. One standard.
Each practice stands alone — the Ascent System for the numbers, Operations for the execution. The software we publish serves both.
The Ascent System
Every stream the business runs — revenue, paid media, SEO, banking, books — converged into one governed basin. Live SKU contribution margin, a predictive 13-week cash floor, and cross-platform MER, with Guides that reconcile, flag, forecast, and brief. Software that does the work.
EnterOperations
Retainer-driven execution: launch management, supply-chain relationships, and the media-to-cart systems that turn attention into orders.
Enter03 · The software
Built in the open.
The Ascent System runs on software we built ourselves — so when a client needs a tool that does not exist, we build it. Now the best of that work is going public: a line of small, sharp apps released under open-source licenses, free to use, with the source on display.
First releases are in preparation. And when off-the-shelf is not the answer, the same team builds bespoke apps — scoped like everything else we do: fit check, fixed quote, yours to keep.
Public apps · manifest
- source — public, per-app repositories
- license — open source, stated per app
- telemetry — none. no accounts, no analytics
- data — stays on your device
- status — first releases in preparation
The rules every North Fiord public app ships under. When a bespoke app is the right answer, the same rules inform the build.
04 · Who we guide
Two parties on the same mountain.
The ecommerce operator
Founder or COO of a direct-to-consumer brand, roughly $2–30M revenue. Lean team, no dedicated finance analyst, growth spend that moves faster than the books.
What hurts
Contribution margin is invisible until month-end. Ad spend lives in Meta and Google, revenue in Shopify, cash in Brex — and nobody reconciles them until it's too late. Inventory buys are gut calls.
Their streams
What good looks like
Weekly blended CAC and margin by channel. A Guide that flags a ROAS dip before the next budget cycle. A cash position that updates itself every morning.
The seed-to-Series-B operator
Founder or Head of Ops at a subscription software company. Board-report cadence, thin ops layer, revenue truth split between billing and the bank.
What hurts
MRR truth lives in Stripe but churn surfaces in the bank a month later. SEO and paid compete for credit blind. Board decks are assembled by hand at midnight before every meeting.
Their streams
What good looks like
Board-ready MRR, churn, and runway on demand. A Guide that reconciles payments to the ledger daily and drafts the investor update for review, not from scratch.
05 · The firm
We build the basin we wished we had — then run it in our own house first.
North Fiord is an independent strategic operations consultancy for founder-led DTC brands and SaaS companies — the rebrand and continuation of a practice that began as management consulting for DTC operators.
The firm kept building the same thing for every client: a way to see margin, cash, and demand in real time. That system became the Ascent System, and it runs daily in our own DTC operation — on real money, every week. It is the demo.
Today the practice runs the Ascent System and Operations side by side, with a growing line of public software behind them — each to the same standard: precise, discreet, and built to be kept.
06 · Begin
Ready to rope up?
Every engagement starts the same way: a short introduction, a short set of questions by email, and a written evaluation — go, conditional, or no-go — before any terms.
